Beatrice ( Portuguese: Beatriz, pronounced [bi.ɐˈtɾiʃ]; 7–13 February 1373 – c. 1420) was the only surviving legitimate child of King Ferdinand I of Portugal and his wife, Leonor Teles. She became Queen consort of Castile by marriage to King John I of Castile.
She is sometimes confused with another Portuguese lady, Beatrice Pinto, wife of Gilbert Talbot and Thomas Fittiplace. It is unknown if Beatrice had children from any of her marriages. Beatrice died in Bordeaux, France in November 1439. After her death her husband married Lady Anne Montagu.
Beatrice was born in Coimbra around the period of 1347-1351 and she became Countess of Alburquerque when she married Sancho, Count of Alburquerque (1373). She died in 1381. Beatrice's entitlement to be considered an Infanta (Princess) of Portugal is debatable.
