Fountainhead Park offers commanding views of the Occoquan, great fishing and boating, mountain biking, access to the 17-mile Bull Run-Occoquan Trail, kayak tours and rentals, and much more. The park also features a miniature golf course, and a marina building with sandwiches, snacks, beverages, bait and tackle, fishing licenses and other necessities.
Fountainhead Regional Park offers a rental picnic shelter perfect for picnics with family, friends and coworkers. Picnic shelter includes tables and grills. The shelter is available for rent during three time periods, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. to sunset, or all day. The Facility is available Mid-March through Veterans Day.

More importantly, Fountainhead Regional Park is the southernmost trailhead for the 19.7 mile Bull Run-Occoquan Trail.

Fountainhead Regional Park, on the banks of the Occoquan Reservoir in Fairfax County Virginia, has a labyrinth of hiking trails with surprisingly low usage. The park is broken into 2 areas, a mountain biking-only set of trails on its western side, and equestrian/hiking-only trails on the eastern side. The white, orange and portions of the blue trails near the reservoir are a true walk in the woods.
