Fountainhead Regional Park is an approximately 2,000 acre regional park, bordering a tributary of the Potomac River, in Fairfax County, northern Virginia . The park is protected and managed by the NOVA Parks agency of Northern Virginia, formerly the Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority.
Fountainhead Regional Park contains shared-use hiking and equestrian trails and provides trailhead access to the 19.7 mile Bull Run Occoquan Trail. Kayak, power boat and canoe rentals are available, or bring your own to our boat launch ramp on the Occoquan Reservoir. If you’d rather stay on land simply relax and cast a line at the fishing pier.
Fountainhead Park offers commanding views of the Occoquan, great fishing and boating, mountain biking, access to the 17-mile Bull Run-Occoquan Trail, kayak tours and rentals, and much more. The park also features a miniature golf course, and a marina building with sandwiches, snacks, beverages, bait and tackle, fishing licenses and other necessities.
The observation deck of the Marina Building at Fountainhead commands a spectacular view of the widest point of the Occoquan Reservoir.
