About the place. The National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, established in 1615 and known locally as ‘Mohylianka’, is a descendant of one of the oldest universities in Central and Eastern Europe. In 1632, Petro Mohyla founded the Kyiv-Brotherhood College on its basis; in 1819, the Kyiv Theological Academy was set up in its place.
