Lake Fairfax Fishing. Fishing is available year round at Lake Fairfax Park. The lake is very accessible for shoreline fishermen and has catfish, bass, sunfish, black crappie, bullhead, and bluegill. All anglers must follow all Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources rules and regulations.

Lake Fairfax park is a great recreation spot. There are fishing, camping, soccer fields and a cricket field, but to me the best part is the extensive web of trails through the forests. Mostly wild and not always well marked, it is a nice place for a couple of hours of adventure.

Lake Fairfax Park's 476 acres include an 18-acre lake, The Water Mine - an outdoor swimming pool enveloped by a lazy river, seasonal fishing, campgrounds, picnic areas, trails, party areas, a carousel, and playground. Nominal fees are charged for the Water Mine, carousel and camping. Swimming is prohibited in the lake.
