Lake Fairfax Park's 476 acres include an 18-acre lake, The Water Mine - an outdoor swimming pool enveloped by a lazy river, seasonal fishing, campgrounds, picnic areas, trails, party areas, a carousel, and playground. Nominal fees are charged for the Water Mine, carousel and camping. Swimming is prohibited in the lake. A new marina complex opened there in 2006.
