The Friends of Mason Neck State Park group works to conserve, enhance and interpret the park’s natural, educational, recreational and cultural resources. The group sponsors picnics, kayak trips, show-and-tell programs, volunteer activities and other special events.

Elizabeth Hartwell Mason Neck National Wildlife Refuge, in cooperation with the Mason Neck State Park, hosts an annual white-tailed deer hunt to manage the deer population on the site. The hunter success rate, coupled with the overall popularity of the large-scale hunt within Northern Virginia, is a huge factor in drawing hunters back each year.
The Friends of Mason Neck State Park is a Section 501 (c) (3) organization that works to conserve, enhance, and interpret the Park's natural, educational, recreational, cultural and historic resources. We assist the Park Staff in implementing its programs and activities such as the annual Eagle Festival, shoreline cleanups, and outreach events.
