Fantastic park for birdwatching and beach. May 2020. This is a really nice hike that has a little bit for everyone. There's a long boardwalk that goes through a swamp with all sorts of birds and reptiles, and for the kids, beach access to the Potomac in an area that's shallow.

Mason Neck State Park is located on the Mason Neck peninsula in southeastern Fairfax County, Virginia. The Park's wetlands, forest, water, ponds, and fields are home to a variety of wildlife, including bald eagles, osprey, geese, ducks, swans, and other birds living on or near the Potomac River, Kane's Creek, and Belmont Bay.

This park is tucked away in Mason Neck between the Potomac River and Belmont Bay. The entrance road is long, winding, and tree covered. Great place to spot the local wildlife (we saw a fox)!
