The Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University is a private music and dance conservatory and preparatory school in Baltimore, Maryland. Founded in 1857 and affiliated with Johns Hopkins in 1977, Peabody is the oldest conservatory in the United States and one of the world's most highly-regarded performing arts schools.

Home. Faculty. At Peabody, you’ll receive world-class individual instruction and guidance from renowned artists and brilliant teachers. They are Grammy and Pulitzer Prize winners, MacArthur and Guggenheim fellows, performers, scholars, and leaders at the top of their fields.

Peabody is open during the summer and visitors can tour our halls, facilities, and 19th century architecture. Many faculty and students are not on campus during the summer, so this would be a nice, quiet time to see a behind-the-scenes tour of our campus.

Offering the highest level of training for students of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels, the Preparatory has been Baltimore’s premier community school for the performing arts for more than a century.
