The Princess Alice (Alice Maud Mary: Grand Duchess of Hesse and by Rhine by marriage; April 25, 1843 – December 14, 1878). She was the second daughter of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert . In 1861, she acted as the nurse to her dying father, and became interested in nursing.
