Saint Mary’s College of California is a Catholic, Lasallian, liberal arts college, rooted in the life and work of Saint John Baptist de La Salle, founder of the Christian Brothers and the patron saint of teachers. The college was founded in 1863 by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese as a diocesan college for boys and is one of the oldest colleges on the West Coast of the United States.
