Seville Cathedral has 10 doors; Puerta de la Asunción (Door of Assumption) is the main door, and Puerta del Perdón (Door of Forgiveness), is the oldest door and the only one that still remains from the old Almohad mosque. The official name of the cathedral of Seville is "Catedral de Santa María de la Sede" and it is the largest church in the world, after St. Peter's Basilica in Rome and St. Paul's Cathedral in London. The Cathedral of the archbishopric of Seville was built on the site where once a Moorish mosque, built by the Almohads, stood. This mosque was taken from the Moors in 1248 and was then used as a cathedral.
In the Cathedral of Seville, at the top of the Giralda there is a very particular sculpture that is part of the cultural and artistic heritage of the capital of Seville. It is the sculpture popularly known as Giraldillo, although its official name is the Triumph of the Victorious Faith.
