Disposable masks and cloth masks: Untie the strings behind your head or stretch the ear loops and fold the outside corners together. Respirators: Follow the manufacturer’s instructions. For reusable cloth masks If your cloth mask is wet or dirty, put it in a sealed plastic bag until you can wash it. This will keep it from getting moldy.

Tips on wearing a face mask Wash or sanitise your hands before putting on or taking off your mask. Ensure the mask covers your nose and mouth and fits snugly under your chin, over the bridge of your nose and against the sides of your face. Refrain from touching the front of your mask while wearing or removing it.

Here are the basics of how to wear a mask: Clean your hands before you put your mask on, as well as before and after you take it off, and after you touch it at any time.
