Wikimapia is a geographic online encyclopedia project. The project implements an interactive "clickable" web map that utilizes Google Maps with a geographically-referenced wiki system, with the aim to mark and describe all geographical objects in the world. Wikimapia was created by Alexandre Koriakine and Evgeniy Saveliev in May 2006.
Love the desktop..this app sucks. I can log in with my wikimapia account to this app to view my saved places, change the map type or view community supplied place names. These are the features that make Wikimapia superior. And we get none of them on this app. What a waste of time!
