He commanded the 5th Army in World War I and supported Adolf Hitler's rise to power, but later opposed him. He became the head of the House of Hohenzollern on 4 June 1941 and died on 20 July 1951.

Augustus William (German: August Wilhelm; 9 August 1722, Berlin – 12 June 1758, Oranienburg), Prince of Prussia, was the second son of King Frederick William I of Prussia and Sophia Dorothea of Hanover. He was a younger brother of Wilhelmine of Bayreuth, Frederick II of Prussia and Louisa Ulrika of Prussia.
