Brian David Griese ( / ˈɡriːsi / GREE-see; born March 18, 1975) is an American football coach and former quarterback who is the quarterbacks coach for the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the third round of the 1998 NFL Draft.
Griese will be stepping into a coaching job for the first time. He retired from the NFL as a player in 2008. He does, however, have some familiarity with Niners coach Kyle Shanahan.
