Brian Winfield Sipe (born August 8, 1949) is an American former professional football player who was a quarterback for the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League (NFL) from 1974 to 1983. He then played in the United States Football League (USFL) for two seasons.

Brian Sipe was drafted by Cleveland in 1972 and didn’t see significant playing time for the next few years. Once he finally became an established starter, Sipe would become part of Browns lore. His leadership of the “Kardiac Kids” would help kick start the Browns resurgence in the 1980s.

Sipe spent his entire 10-year NFL career in Cleveland, leaving the Browns following the 1983 season. He finished with 154 TD passes, 149 interceptions and almost 24,000 yards. Sipe engineered 17 fourth-quarter comebacks and 23 game-winning drives, including a league-leading seven in ’79.
