Derrick Vincent Thomas (January 1, 1967 – February 8, 2000), nicknamed D.T., was an American football linebacker for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL). Considered one of the greatest pass rushers of all time, he played 11 seasons with the Chiefs until his death in 2000.

Derrick Vincent Thomas was born January 1, 1967. The son of Robert Thomas (US Air Force Captain) and Edith Morgan. His father was a veteran of the Vietnam war. He began playing football at the age of 3. He went on to play for South Miami High School in Miami, Florida. He graduated in 1985.
