Greater Cleveland Aquarium is open for general visitation Monday – Sunday from 10am – 5pm with very few exceptions. (Thanksgiving & Christmas we are closed to the public and we are only open 10am – 2pm on Christmas Eve.) Occasionally we even extend our hours or offer evening events.
Greater Cleveland Aquarium is filled with intriguing aquatic life from the Great Lakes and colorful sea creatures from around the globe. From weedy seadragons to a giant Pacific octopus, you can see more than 2,700 animals representing 320 species.
The Greater Cleveland Aquarium is found on the west bank of The Flats, in the historic FirstEnergy Powerhouse building (which dates back to 1892!) overlooking the Cuyahoga River. The aquarium covers 70,000 square feet, and is actually a relatively new addition to the city, having opened in 2012.
