Henry B. Plant Museum is located at 401 W. Kennedy Boulevard, Tampa, Fl 33606. For general information, please call (813) 254-1891 or visit the museum website at www.plantmuseum.com . The museum is open Tuesday-Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. University of Tampa students, faculty and staff can visit for free with UT ID.

History. During the 1880’s, Henry Bradley Plant was building an empire of railroads, steamships and hotels. He wanted that empire to have a palace and that palace was the Tampa Bay Hotel. The hotel was built by Plant personally, not investors, at a cost of $2,500,000 and an additional $500,000 for furnishings.
