Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited Introduction: MRPL was set up as a joint venture between HPCL and Aditya Birla Group in 1987. The 1st phase of the Refinery of capacity 3.69 MMTPA was commissioned in 1996. In 1999, MRPL commissioned the second phase and increased the Refining capacity to 9.69 MMTPA.
