Drammen is a city in Viken, previously Buskerud, 40 km (25 mi) southwest of Oslo. Drammen is where the Drammen river runs into the Drammensfjord, an arm of the Oslofjord. The part north of the river is called Bragernes, the part south of the river is called Strømsø. Drammen is promoted as "the river city".
The city and port of Drammen is in Viken county in Norway's southeast, the most populated part of the country. Prior to the creation of Viken, Drammen was part of Buskerud and will be once again following the upcoming disestablishment of Viken. The city is about 44km southwest of the Oslo, west of the Oslofjord.

Drammen is one of the larger cities in Norway, and is about 47 km from the capital of Norway, Oslo. The city centre is at the end of a valley, on both sides of the river Drammenselva, and where the river meets the Drammensfjord. Drammen is also the main city for car and fruit import in Norway.
