It is on the right bank of the Nervion River, next to Casco Viejo. Its built area of 10,000 square metres (110,000 sq ft) makes it the biggest covered market in Europe.

Dec 2022. La Ribera Market is a traditional roofed marketplace housed in an amazing looking Art Deco building. Much of the floor space is given over to local stalls, so you know it’s a genuine local market. There is a section given over to a food hall with some very nice looking stalls selling typical Spanish and Basque fare.
