About ORHC. ORHC provides for the preservation, operation and public enjoyment of Portland’s historic locomotives, railroad equipment, and artifacts, and educates the public about Oregon’s rich and diverse railroad history. Portland’s industrial heritage is entwined with being at the crossroads of many different railroads for over a century.
The Oregon Rail Heritage Foundation was established in 2002 with the goal of securing a permanent home for maintaining and operating three historic steam locomotives. ORHF operates the Oregon Rail Heritage Center – a working museum, open to the public, free of charge.
