NFL: 9–19 (.321) Coaching stats at PFR. Steven Bernard Wilks (born August 8, 1969) is an American football coach and former player who is the defensive coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League (NFL). He was the head coach for the Arizona Cardinals in 2018.

Wilks was the Bears defensive back's coach when from 2006 through 2008. Urlacher was named the DPOY in 2005 and was an All-Pro in ‘05 and ‘06, so Wilks saw his work ethic first-hand.
