Tempe Diablo Stadium Complex was founded in 1968 and underwent an extensive renovation in 2005. The stadium and all of its facilities overlook Gene Autry Field and the beautiful Marriott Buttes Resort. Not only is the complex one of the more picturesque facilities, it is one of the most accessible complexes in the Phoenix Metro area.
As for the stadium itself, because of the way it is positioned and its limited shade, the sun is a major nuisance. Bring lots of sunblock and drink plenty of water. The parking is free, however.
Tempe Diablo Stadium is a great place to see a game. The field is beautifully kept up. The seats are comfortable for a ballpark, and the grassy berm beyond the outfield fences is a fun and inexpensive option. The ticket prices were totally reasonable. My only quibble is that the food choices were rather limited.
