The art and soul of the city, the Short North Arts District is unique and woven into the culture of Columbus. Known for being welcoming, inclusive and vibrant, the Short North was named one of Matador’s 9 best gay-friendly cities in the U.S. and the community lives for LGBTQIA+ acceptance and representation.
The first line was the Columbus and Xenia Railroad. In Xenia, the railroad connected with the Little Miami Railroad which provided service to Cincinnati. Because of the railroad’s potential, city leaders took over a piece of land north of Columbus in what is now the Short North.
Jun 2015 • Friends. The Short North Arts District of Columbus, Ohio is a unique part of the city. Centred on High Street, it runs between downtown and the Ohio State University campus area. This is not the bargain basement area of the city although value can be had, it probably will not come as a bargain.
