Timothy Geithner, in full Timothy Franz Geithner, (born August 18, 1961, Brooklyn, New York, U.S.), American public official who served as president and chief executive officer (CEO) of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York (2003–09) and as secretary of the U.S. Department of the Treasury (2009-13) in the administration of Pres. Barack Obama.
