The U-M Museum of Natural History puts science on display. This museum, located on the University of Michigan Campus, houses the state's largest collection of dinosaur skeletons. Displays explore our natural history with special attention to Michigan's prehistoric past. The planetarium has a 360-degree domed screen that surrounds the audience.
The rotunda is awe-inspiring, making you long for the beauty of architecture of bygone days. The exhibits rely heavily on preserved bones and taxidermied animals. The displays have a very 1950s feel about them, but are still educational. The hall of dinosaur bones should still thrill your Dino-loving little ones.
The University of Michigan Museum of Natural History transforms hearts and minds by promoting understanding of the natural world, our place in it, and our impact on it. They bring campus and community together in participatory and inclusive learning experiences to explore the processes of science and to address urgent global and local challenges. The U-M Museum of Natural History opened its spectacular new facility in the Biological Sciences Building in April 2019.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, staff at the University of Michigan Museum of Natural History have been testing and developing innovative ways to engage patrons, educators and students from home. Though the community will have to wait a bit longer to safely visit in-person, a new online 3D experience launching this week will offer the next best thing.
