Vadim Nikolayevich Podbelsky (Russian: Вади́м Никола́евич Подбе́льский; November 1887 – February 25, 1920) was a Russian revolutionary and Bolshevik politician following the Russian Revolution. Born in Yakutia in 1887, Podbelsky joined the Bolshevik faction of the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party in 1905.

Vadim Podbelsky, who in spring 1918 had become Commissar of the Post and Telegraph of the USSR at the age of thirty, was at work at a subbotnik (a voluntary Saturday work project) in late January 1920 when he stepped on an old nail. He paid it little attention, but it led to a blood infection and his subsequent death.

Career. Podbelsky joined the Bolshevik Russian Social Democratic Labour Party in 1905. During the 1905 uprising he was involved in anti-government demonstrations and meetings Fearing arrest, Podbelsky fled to France in 1906. Vadim Podbelsky was buried in the Kremlin Wall Necropolis.
