Yevhen Mykhailovych Konovalets ( Коновалець; June 14, 1891 – May 23, 1938) was a military commander of the Ukrainian National Republic army, veteran of the Ukrainian-Soviet War and political leader of the Ukrainian nationalist movement. He is best known as the leader of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists between 1929 and 1938.

Yevhen's grandfather Mykhailo Konovalets (1824-1889) moved to Zashkiv. In 1852 he married Maria Skorobogata, the daughter of the Zashkiv parish priest Fr. Skorobogatyi. Yevhen's father, Mykhailo Konovalets (1859-1944), remained in Zashkov, where he began teaching at a Ukrainian-language public school and later became its director.

The figure of Yevhen Konovalets is still underestimated. Stepan Bandera, the leader of one wing of the OUN after its split in 1940, is more known among Ukrainians then Konovalets. But, it is the latter who founded the organization and established contacts with politicians in Germany, the United Kingdom, Lithuania, Spain, Italy, Austria, USA.
