1 aol account was working fine the other had this failure to connect to the IMAP server. On may Android Phone, Samsung, Samsung was asking for access to my AOL account and I had to agree to keep that working...did not change password. I think a few weeks later - today, Microsoft outlook starts with the IMAP message.
It is the same mail i have in the Microsoft E-Mail app and rightly should be since i linked Outlook mail with the Verizon /AOL mail i receive in the Windows Mail app. I don't have any other e-mail accounts [like G-Mail] set up in Outlook so i can't tell you about those , but my Verizon \/A.O.L. e-mail is currently working fine !
