Sbcglobal.net is an att legacy account and not an yahoo account. Att and yahoo have unmerged these accounts from yahoo -- more to the point have been trying to do that. It's obviously a work in progress and others like you are having the same problem (lots of threads on this like yours recently). Maybe someday they will get it right.
I have had my att.net email account through yahoo for years (2008) and now i kept getting a message asking me to sign into my account or check my settings. When i try to sign in it says my password...
When I go to the new currently.att.yahoo page to sign into this email and recover password, it sends an email to my mom who has an att.net email and I change my password, except when I go back to the website and update password it says there was a problem and doesn't let me log in.

For whatever reason, I cannot sign into my account without resetting my password every time I log in. I reset the password to the same thing every time. Not only is this a TERRIBLE user experience, this is unacceptable for a large tech company to not be able to get this right. I have talked to ATT.NET tech support, with NO RESOLUTION.
