When you export email from an IMAP account in Outlook to a .pst file, you may not see the messages after you import the file back into Outlook. Note: The email messages aren't lost, but they are hidden from view.

The behavior is that because I'm using the same email, Outlook now assumes it's an MSA account and refuses to use the domain with the autodiscovery DNS entry for my domain to resolve to O365 Exchange servers to lookup the account. The result: I can't use Outlook 2016 for my Office 365 email. This was not the case in the past.

When I do a Send/Recieve in Outlook, I get the status box. The line with my account and "sending" is checked, and the sync'ing is the next line. That message stays there for 3 - 5 seconds, and the box disappears. This is consistent.
Well maybe, but in order to switch my stored emails from the soon-to-be-defunct Windows Live Mail 2012 (which I have known and loved for ages) I needed to access the version of Outlook in my Office 365 subscription, because you can’t import stored emails into the Outlook App (apparently).
