Three CHI Hospitals Named to Lists of Top Critical Access Hospitals. CHI St. Alexius Health Carrington, Carrington, ND, was named one of the Top 20 Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs) in the nation for 2017. This is the third time since 2014 that CHI St. Alexius Health Carrington has been recognized with the Top 20 distinction.
Catholic Health Initiatives was formed through the joining together of four national Catholic health care systems. Planning began in 1995, when Catholic health leaders began to explore strengthening community health care for the future.

With this in mind, more than 700 hospital partners across the nation, including Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI), teamed up with us to make healthier choices easier.
Our history CommonSpirit was created by the combination of Catholic Health Initiatives and Dignity Health as a single ministry in early 2019. Today, we continue to build on that foundation of compassion as we care for the common good.
