E-Verify will include a new UEI field for federal contractors on or around April 4. Employers that have indicated they are a federal contractor in E-Verify will need to provide this UEI number through their company profile. Program Administrators can log into their E-Verify account and click on ‘View Company Profile’ to update this information.
To take advantage of some of the features myE-Verify offers, you must create your secure account. You have to be logged into your account to use the Self Lock and Case History features. The first step is to complete the Self Check process and receive a response of "Work Authorization Confirmed." Next, you'll complete these four steps to create a myE-Verify account:
Enter the submitter EIN in the RA Record and the employer EIN in the RE Record. The employer EIN should normally match the EIN under which tax payments were submitted to the IRS under Form 941, 943, 944, CT-1 or Schedule H. Do not use non-numeric characters in the RE Record Employer/Agent EIN field.
Employees can identify a remote agent (e.g. a trusted relative or friend) who can complete their I-9. A remote agent must be 18 + years of age and can meet with the employee in-person to complete Section 2 or 3 of the I-9 form during a scheduled videoconference call with Human Resources. Process for using a Remote Agent:
Receive notifications when a job opening matches your area of career interest by creating a Job Agent; Email an open position to a friend; Keep your information current by updating your profile; An email address is not required to create a personal profile, however it is recommended so that we can keep in touch with you regarding your application.
Federal Employment Eligibility (Form I9) and State Employment Eligibility (E-Verify) is mandated for each new employee (both citizen and non-citizen) hired after November 6, 1986 and is authorized to work in the United States. These verification forms, along with the hire form and tax forms, are completed through the Duke@Work site.
