The In-N-Out Burger Foundation’s purpose is to assist children who have been victims of child abuse, and to prevent others from suffering a similar fate. The Foundation supports organizations that provide residential treatment, emergency shelter, foster care, and early intervention for children in need. The Foundation is a registered 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization that is supported primarily through donor contributions and internal fundraising activities sponsored by In-N-Out Burger.
The Cookout Fundraiser began in 1990 as a fundraiser for local schools. In-N-Out Burger provides the truck, labor, food and all the promotional materials at no cost to the school. You simply pre-sell a minimum of 300 tickets for a suggested price of $5.

The In-N-Out Burgers Foundation, was established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in March 1995, and classified as a "Human Services: Fund Raising & Fund Distribution" organization under the NTEE system.
Program 1. THE FOUNDATION CONTRIBUTED $3,010,300 TO 349 CHARITIES WITHIN ARIZONA, CALIFORNIA, NEVADA, OREGON, TEXAS, AND UTAH ASSISTING THOUSANDS OF CHILDREN WHO HAVE BEEN VICTIMS OF CHILD ABUSE. THE FUNDS WERE USED FOR RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT, EMERGENCY SHELTERS, FOSTER CARE AND PLACEMENT, EDUCATIONAL, INTERVENTION AND TREATMENT PROGRAMS.

The In-N-Out Burger Child Abuse Foundation was founded in 1995, 47 years after the humble beginnings of In-N-Out as a single burger joint in Baldwin Park, run by Harry and Esther Snyder. An innovative company from the beginning, In-N-Out has stuck to its moral backbone since its founding, serving high-quality food from 1948 to today.
