Unlike my when using my Google Mail account, it looks that my Microsoft Outlook 365 folders are not automatically updated with incoming email messages. It seems to me that any new email items are updated probably once in 15-20 minutes. I know that i can update Outlook by hitting F9 or use the Send/Receive All command.

In Gmail, open a new mail and select your AOL address in the From section. When you send an email, you can now select for either your Gmail or AOL address to appear in the From part.

In my mail app (Client) on Win10 (new computer Jan 2020), I have gmail, aol and and old verizon POP account. If I select the AOL or Gmail account and then do more, I can see a junk folder. If I click the POP account and do more, there is not junk folder. This may explain why some of you have the problem.

AOL Mail has been around for quite some time, way before social media sites and their private messaging system came into vogue. AOL Mail is a very reliable email system even to this day. It is important to keep your account secure, so AOL offered account recovery settings should anything untoward happen.
