Fix software update and profile issues. Out-of-date software and corrupted Outlook profiles are two of the most common issues that can prevent you from sending and receiving email. If you're an admin with multiple users reporting problems, you also should check for service issues with Microsoft 365.

Choose Account Settings > Account Settings. On the Email tab, choose your account (profile), and then choose Repair. Note: The Repair option isn't available if you're using Outlook 2016 to connect to an Exchange account. Follow the prompts in the wizard, and when you’re done, restart Outlook.

If you want to use outlook, type outlook on the start menu and open it. Pin it to the task bar and remove the Mail app. Outlook has a blue icon, Mail is a white envelope. Best guess, it sounds like you need to update the password. :)
