Since Microsoft has merged Hotmail into its free Outlook.com email service, you can now retrieve your Hotmail.com emails in the official Outlook app. To install the app: Android: Tap the Play Store icon (the multicolored triangle in your app drawer), search for outlook, and then tap the link for Microsoft Outlook: Organize Your Email & Calendar.
Open the Microsoft Outlook email app. It's the icon of a blue calendar and darker-blue square with an "O" inside. After installing the app, you'll find it in your app list. When creating a new email address in the Microsoft Outlook app, you'll be able to choose "@hotmail.com" as your email domain name.
If you use Outlook.com to access an account that uses a domain other than @live.com, @hotmail.com, or @outlook.com, you might not be able to sync your accounts using IMAP. To resolve this, remove the connected IMAP account in Outlook.com and reconfigure it as a POP connection.
