The Unread Mail folder is a default Outlook Search Folder. If it isn't visible in your Folders list, you can add it. Newer versions Office 2007 In Mail, click the Folder tab. Method 1: Open your inbox. Click on the drop-down button beside "View All" located above the messages then choose "Unread". Method 2: Change the email settings to list emails individually rather than group by conversation. Recover all recently deleted emails. Move them to the inbox. Mark all as read. Delete them.
Delete any emails you do not want. When Inbox is empty, right click on Inbox folder and select 'Compact'. Normally, you do not need to empty the Inbox in order to compact the folder, but if you suspect any corruption then it is a wise idea to remove the emails first...just in case.
