Hechingen, city, Baden-Württemberg Land (state), southwestern Germany. It lies in the Swabian Alp, southwest of Tübingen. From the 13th century it was the seat of the counts of Zollern (after 1623, princes of Hohenzollern-Hechingen); it passed to Prussia in 1850.
