Single sign-on (SSO) lets your employees use a single set of credentials (name and password) to sign in and access multiple applications and websites. With SSO, you can manage your employees' credentials, increasing your security and access control.

Sign in to the Microsoft Entra admin center as at least a Cloud Application Administrator. Browse to Identity > Applications > Enterprise applications > All applications. Search for and select the application that you want to add linked SSO. Select Single sign-on and then select Linked.

To configure password-based SSO by using automatic sign-in field capture, follow these steps: Sign in to the Microsoft Entra admin center as at least a Cloud Application Administrator. Browse to Identity > Applications > Enterprise applications > All applications. Select the app that you want to configure for SSO.

Prerequisites. To configure OIDC-based SSO, you need: An Azure AD user account. If you don't already have one, you can Create an account for free. One of the following roles: Global Administrator, Cloud Application Administrator, Application Administrator, or owner of the service principal.

With password-based SSO, a user signs in to the application with a username and password the first time it's accessed. After the first sign-on, Azure AD sends the username and password to the application. Password-based SSO uses the existing authentication process provided by the application.

Single sign-on (SSO) allows users to only enter their credentials once and have those credentials automatically work across applications. The Microsoft identity platform and the Microsoft Authentication Library (MSAL) help you enable SSO across your own suite of apps.
